— chibishadowkitten: How did you learn to crochet? I really want to learn to try and make Pokèbabies of my own, but I have no idea where to start!
I learned by watching vids on YouTube.
Here are a few users that I would watch…
I also practiced crocheting basic shapes. Like a sphere, cone, cylinder, etc. This WEBSITE has some really awesome shapes to start with.
Also, try to find the right yarn that works best for you. I love using Red Heart Yarn. That was the yarn I began with.
A good hook is always best, I use Susan Bates crochet hooks. Size 5mm is my FAVORITE hook to use. I use that size for all my amigurumis.
I hope this helps you out. Good luck and HAVE FUN!!! :D
— cuntinthecountryside: Hello! My name's bond and I absolutely adore your blog :) I'm 20 and have sorted of just learnt the basics with crochet and was wondering what first got you interested and when :) x
I was a Junior in high school when I started. That was around 2005-2006. I would only make scarves. After awhile I stopped because I wanted to focus on my school work. I picked it up again about 2 years ago when I was BORED and hadn’t been working for a while. :/
When I started crocheting back in school, I only knew the Chain stitch and Single crochet. When I picked it back up, there were so many other stitches. My first thing I made was an octopus and it came out kinda wonky. haha
But I kept on going and Im glad I did. I LOVE the things I make. Its fun to see what animal you can make with yarn. :)
